How To Survive On Your Own

I was just low-key drinking my cup of tea while listening to my playlist as this idea suddenly popped up in my head. I almost spilled my tea because I was so rush to get it done. Nah, I lied, none of that was true. Actually a little bird asking me to write this one. But I did drink my tea. So some part of it are indeed true.

You guys know that I've been living alone on my own right? Wait. That sounds completely depressing. Okay scratch that, again, you guys know that I've been living independently right? And since this little bird was asking me to write something about it, I was thinking why don't I just share to you lovely people how to survive on your own? Because this will absolutely come in handy someday.

Most of these were come from my own experience. Kindly note that my experience might be different with others. But I guess most of it are just the same. So here we go!

1. Get a friend

Living alone either in different city or even different country can be hard sometimes (most of the times actually), especially when you don't know anybody there. Having a friend would be a great deal of help. You will feel a little less lonely, and definitely you have one extra pair of ears to listen to all of your problems (if they are willing to listen).

2. Surround yourself with your hobby

Doing something that you love can help you pass the time much faster. So surround yourself with it. If you love reading, buy lots of books. If you love to paint, buy the painting supplies. If you like movies, then go to cinema when you have a spare time. The purpose of this is to keep you entertain, so the boredom won't have any space to invade.

3. Explore

You're in a new place, why not as well explore it? You can try their traditional cuisine, or go to some place. Basically go out once in a while, so you have a different scenery other than your apartment. Even just the mall nearby.

4. Keep in touch with everyone back at home

Sure you're in a new city, new country, you have lots of new friends and lots of activities to do, but you must not forgeting those people you leave behind. Eventually you will go back there. And it's nice to speak in your native tongue once in a while.

5. Always remember your goal

I know you might get tired along the way and you just want to drop everything and be done with it. I know. I know you will get homesick every now and then. I know you will feel that you missing out on a lot of things with your friends even though you always keep in touch with them. I know. I've been there, and to be honest, I still do.

There will come a time when you start questioning your decision, but it's okay, it's part of the journey you're walking. Because nothing's ever certain, that's one thing I'm sure of. This is where you need to always remember your goal, the very first root that made up your whole decision to do this. This will help you to hold on a little bit longer, walking a little further.

Always remember that this thing you're doing right now, among all the things that you have sacrificed to be here, it will bloom someday in a way that you've always wanted it to be, and perhaps even better.

So there you have it.

If you ask me how those tips are gonna prevent you from getting a complete break down, well, I must say that it won't. You will break down at some point, and it's normal, it tells you that you are still human with limits. Those tips are merely to help you to get through it, not to prevent it. You can't prevent that from happening. It's inevitable.

I hope that those tips I gave you guys will help you on your journey that you are walking now or soon to be walked on.

You can do it!! :)
