They say that our lives have been written in the stars a long time ago, where the concept of time hasn't even existed yet. They say everything has been set in motion, they called it "Fate". They also say fate is somewhere you are meant to be in, something you are meant to have, someone that you are meant to be with. It's something that inevitably will happen in the end.
What is the actual role of our choices in our lives?Does it play an important part in our fate?Is it the one that sets our fate in motion?Do our choices make any differences in our fate?Or no matter how many choices we've made, our fate is still the same as the first time it hatched?
But what if living is like driving a car. You put both of your hands on the steering wheel, eyes forward. At this moment, the possibility of your future is endless. Everything can be your future at this point. And then you turn on the engine and start moving. Your life starts now.
All of the right or left turns are the options that we have to choose, which eventually brings us closer to our fate. Eliminating the infinity of alternate future we had at the beginning of our lives. Our fate does not exist until we make our choices.
Then again, who's in this immense universe that surely knows the way fate works? It's beyond our brain could grasp. It's something that we, humans, simply cannot map out. Sure there are lots of definitions, assumptions, hypotheses on how fate works, but none of them come close to the exact truth behind the secret of fate.
The question about fate will still be pilling up like dirty laundry in the rainy season, and it will still leave unanswered. It might be caused a bit of frustration for someone with high curiosity. In the end, we are still not knowing what will our lives become, because nothing is ever certain like I always said to myself.
So what can we do then? Well, keep making those choices, because as far as I know, we could end up anywhere, we could be anyone, we could be sharing the rest of our lives with anyone. Who knows? :)
