The Aftermath

The aftermath when two people who had promised to be with each other cannot work it out anymore could be horrid. Even if the parting is inevitable, and you saw that coming, knowing very well what would happen next, still, no one is truly ready for the heartbreak.

It throws you off from the course, your whole world trembling. You have to change everything because everything is not going to be the way it used to anymore. It could shatter you completely.

And apparently, a broken heart could physically harm you.

Your body could start shivering from the absence of warmth from that person who got away. It could be hard to breathe as well since the void they left behind is really suffocate the hell out of you. Because how do you suppose to not loving someone who filled every inch of that beating organ of yours anymore?

Yet the string is still broken, very much like the promise you once thought you could uphold until the day you draw your last breath. At least, that was the hope. And because of that, you were willing to go that far just to make sure their well beings were properly taken care of. Stepping up the bar every time, did your absolute best.

And then, there's a series of the famous question of "what if?" followed by everything you wish you could do and said.

But, nobody deserves to cry their hearts out, wondering why they weren't enough. Questioning every little thing that went wrong. Get overwhelmed by those fond memories you still hold, even if they serve no purpose anymore. Wondering if being with you was all just a waste of their time. Begging to God, or whoever and whatever it is, to release you from the agony of being left alone.

Nothing is worse than the painful clenching of your heart when everything hurts too much.

After every tear, pain, and suffering they put you through, after everything you lost, I hope you find something better, whatever or whoever it is. Something or someone who could put an end to that misery, pull you up from the depth of despair. To remind you that you are enough, and being loved by you is the utmost flex. To help you patch up the leftover scars along the way. To show you kindness, so you'll understand despite every bad thing that happened in your life, you are still worth of being loved.

I do really hope that you would never feel that way ever again.
