Achievement! Yeay!

I've been dying to capture humans' eyes which are one part of our bodies that I adore so much. So I had to figured out how to do it with just an iPhone.

Then I bought a 3 in 1 lens + a wide lens, the 3 in 1 includes the macro lens. It was not even the expensive one, it was only idr 70k for both 3 in 1 and the wide lens. And I used the macro lens on my iPhone for this shoot. And voila!

But it was not as easy as it looks. There were a lot of tricky things for me to do. For example:
  1. I had to keep my hand still because I don't have any tripod or gorrila pod (anyone want to buy me those? hehe).
  2. It was so freakin hard to get a focus on the iris because that's what I want to get, I want to capture the iris pattern and color.
  3. The object that I was shooting can't blink too much, because if I finally get the focus and they're blinking, I have to start finding the focus over again.
  4. It was so damn hard to keep their eyes open because I was shooting their eyes in a close range (only 1-2cm away from their eyes).
  5. A lot of blurry pictures before I got the focused one.
  6. One last important thing to did this shoot is: a lot of patient.

After getting a focus picture of a human's eye, the next thing I did is editing it. Let's be honest, there's no way anyone can get a picture like those with just an iPhone without editing it. So yeah, a little edit here and there to get it done.

I'm using the Snapseed and Vsco for editing the picture. First I used the Snapseed to enhanced the details of the iris and sharpening it. And then I moved to Vsco to add a little bit of filters. I also reduced the warmth, from warm to cold just a little bit to balance the color.

So... yeah, it was a long process to get a good picture, but it was totally worth it. I got tons of positive feedback on my Instagram after I uploaded it. You don't need a professional camera to get a picture like those, your mobile phone can do the work with just an additional lens :)

PS: just a quick tips, if you want to do this shoot, make sure you're doing it in outdoor because you want to get a good light so you can capture the iris color and pattern in a good shape. Unless you have the lighting equipments of course.
